Meet Daisy and Bud!
Two new mammoth donkeys joined the Loving Long Ears Donkey Therapy and Sanctuary earlier this month.
A 17-year-old and 12-year-old mother-son duo who were previously used as work donkeys, Daisey and Bud are the first mammoth donkeys to join the pen. Weighing at around 1,000 pounds, Loving Long Ears founder Jules Peterson says Daisey and Bud quickly acclimated to their property and even got to be part of a few events led by the sanctuary.
“It’s a rare breed that you don’t find very often,” Jules says. “They’re these big, gentle giants that have been so loving to everyone that has come in. They’re super sweet animals.”
