OUR DONKEYS

AMELIA PEABODY

Long Ears rescued me and my baby Buffy in 2019, a day before going to slaughter. Buffy was only six months old & still nursing, so I was trying to keep us both safe and it was very scary. I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful loving home now! I would be so happy to be your adopted donkey and grateful for your support towards my food, vet bills & continued daily care. As your adopted donkey, you can come see me whenever you want. Just let me know in advance, so I can make sure to look pretty for you : ) You will also be hearing from me throughout the year, just to say hi and let you know what I’m doing & learning as a Therapy Donkey in training. I look forward to seeing you again soon! This is a photo of when I was rescued with my baby Buffy where we still had our kill pen stickers on. I was so tired but grateful to be in a safe place with Loving Long Ears. The other photo is now at twelve years old. I’m still very young, as we can live to be 40+ years!

BUFFY

Loving Long Ears rescued me and my mom Amelia Peabody in 2019, a day before going to slaughter. I was only six months old & still nursing, it was very scary and I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful loving home now! I’ve learned to do many fun tricks and also known as the “kissing donkey.” I’m in training to pull carts and have a small saddle for kids to start riding me. I also like to go for walks on the bike path & meet new friends. I would be so happy to be your adopted donkey and grateful for your support towards my food, vet bills & continued daily care. As your adopted donkey, you can come see me whenever you want. Just let me know in advance, so I can make sure to look cute with bows in my long hair : ) I also look forward to showing you some of my tricks & I also give kisses! These photos are when I was just rescued as a baby, and now at four years old. I’m still very young, as we can live to be 40+ years!

DAISY

Loving Long Ears Donkey Therapy & Sanctuary, Inc. rescued me and my son Bud. We were both Therapy Donkeys, but our previous owner could no longer keep us, and we needed an urgent home. It was a scary drive for both of us in a trailer, but I’m so grateful to have my son stay with me and be at such a wonderful loving place now! I am a white spotted American Mammoth Donkey, which is a rare breed & color. I may be big but very gentle with kids and adults and love to be hugged. Because of my size, I’m being trained for both kids and larger adults to ride. My favorite thing is to take day naps in the sun. I would be so happy to be your adopted donkey and grateful for your support towards my food, vet bills & continued daily care. As your adopted donkey, you can come visit me. Just let me know in advance, so I can make sure to look pretty : ) I’m now 19 years, but still in great shape, as we can live to be 40+ years!

GIOVANI

I was rescued from a kill pen with my mama when I was a newborn and nursing. In Oct 2022 at 6 months old Loving Long Ears is now giving me a loving forever home with new sisters & a brother. I had never been touched, so I’m still a little scared but making big strides in feeling comfortable. I’m a very curios boy who enjoys rolling in shavings and having my nose kissed. I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful loving home now! I am an American Mammoth Donkey, which is a rare breed. So, I will be larger than other donkeys. I started out eating baby donkey food, and now I’m eating big boy hay & supplements. I would be so happy to be your adopted donkey and grateful for your support towards my food, vet bills & continued daily care. As your adopted donkey, you can come visit me., just let me know in advance, so I can make sure to look cute for you : ) I look forward to seeing you soon to have lots of hugs & kisses! These photos are when I was born on April 24th 2022 and now as a growing boy. I’m still a baby, as we can live to be 40+ years!
